Are you ready?
Welcome to Collide, a human, sled dog, and wild wolf rpg forum based loosely off of the Call of The Wild tv series and books by Jack London, with some major influence from White Fang and, of course, Balto.

It takes place in a little town called Cumberland, similar to Nome but further West and a little further North. It's a town with a dark past, its construction plagued and haunted by the deaths of many. But they are not human deaths. No, they are wolves. Three whole packs were destroyed, killed and put on display, leaving only two surviving packs north of the village boundaries. Two very unhappy packs.

Now, a war has broken out between man and animal, between wolf and dog. The attacks are mounting and the tensions between the two packs are growing as one is blamed for the other's actions. They will not stand for this much longer...

Season
Late Autumn

Weather
Temperature is at an average high of 50 degrees Fahrenheit and 35 degrees Fahrenheit low. Snow has returned to the plains and villages of Nome. For now, the snowfall is light, but it won't be long before blankets of it cover the land. Many animals are preparing for hibernation, so if you need food, stock up now. Pickings are getting slim.

Breeding? No
Birthing? Yes

The Village (dogs)
[ ]The Main Road (1 sub-board)
The biggest and widest road in the town, it cuts the area in two, separating it into East and West sides. Normally, it's more like a snow covered path than a road but it's gravel-paved in the warmer months, and is lined with all the major town businesses, including the post office, butcher, and numerous stores for trappers and sledders.

[ ]The Supply Store (1 sub-board)
The most popular stop along the main road, it sits dead center in the middle of town and is one of the few places dogs are allowed to enter. Just make sure they don't eat or steal any of the food, or you'll have to pay for it.

[ ]The Village Kennel (1 sub-board)
The village itself has its own absolutely massive kennel for those who can't afford their own. It's a major hang out for all the dogs in the area and is full of nice people who will feed, wash and shelter any mutt that happens along. Mushers often come down here to recruit new members for their teams while dog enthusiasts and vets just love the canine-human attention.
11
[ ]Mill's Tavern
Another popular gathering place. Humans love to have fun and make merry to the sound of music and the dancing of girls. Dogs are allowed in since humans also love to place bets on whose dog can do what the best and dog fights commonly break out as a result, often fought out right there in the huge ring set up in the middle of the room, but most choose to stay outside out of sheer boredom.

[ ]Redshire Veteranary Clinic
It isn't uncommon to see people escorting injured, bloody dogs in and out of here. From wolf attacks to pit fights, dogs aren't hard to find who are injured or malnourished. Newly adopted strays are taken here to be nourished back to health from their starving state.

There are kennels inside the clinic. It's a ten-room place -- three rooms are general examination rooms, one is the check-in, and two are back rooms for use of the vets and their assistants. Four rooms are full of cages. There are dog runs in the back and a larger outdoor facility for recuperating dogs.
00
[ ]Housing and Neighborhoods (4 sub-boards)
Most of the village is dedicated to living establishments and housing of all shapes and sizes. From small cottages to elaborate cabins with training facilities and such for sled dogs. Some even have kennels right in their backyards.
00
[ ]Practice Trails
A network of small, mock-trails make their way all across the town. Though most people simply use them to walk from place to place, young dogs and mushers can learn the ropes here, assuming they don't run into anyone.
00
[ ]Exercise Run
Just before you reach the city outskirts, there's a rather large area of flat, thoroughly treaded earth used exclusively to publicly exercise dogs. It's got a few running wheels that you can tie your dogs to and let them run around on, and a few dog runs they can run back and forth on, but it's usually just a dog-park like atmosphere, dogs running free and having fun tormenting each other.
00
The Outskirts (neutral)
[ ]City Checkpoint (2 sub-boards)
This is where mushers start and end any runs, races or hunts and is the way the village keeps track of where its citizens are. Anyone leaving or entering the village must sign in/out. Sledding teams are also registered here and the annual winter dog racing championship starts here.

[ ]Tuskin Lake
A large lake that borders the east side of the village and stretches out into the plain just beyond, it's a popular fishing attraction and is good for swimming in the warmer months. But, in the winter, its a frozen hazard, often invisible beneath the snow until the ice starts to crack... but by then, it's too late.
00
[ ]Village Cemetery
By far the most popular place for strays, the cemetery lies just beyond the city limits, out in the barren snowy plain that stretches on to the mountains. It's very simple, a field of stones and often very traditional markers surrounded by fences and trees. many of the bodies are protected by nothing but a heavy pile of stones and the corpses are very frequently dug up and devoured.

[ ]Outskirt Plain
A rather large stretch of rather flat land is all that separates the village from the wilderness of the mountains and the land beyond them. Usually, it's snow-covered and flat, perfect for setting up traps and for sledding. But, in the warmer months, it's just a grassy area often populated by deer and flowers where pups and children can play if they can brave the possibility of wolf attacks.

[ ]The Southern Wood
A small, relative thin, skimpy little forest that covers the base of the South-Face mountain range. There isn't much to be found here except the extensive sledding trails and small game... and the occasional wandering wolf or stray.
00
The Wlderness (wolves)
[ ]The South-Face Pack (1 sub-board)
Right on the edge of the village, a huge mountain range towers above all the buildings and trails, blocking the entrance to the tundra where the animals lay. Guarding it is the most well-known wolf pack, the white wolves of the south face. They have grown accustomed to dogs but that doesn't mean they are any more accepting of them than their North-face cousins.
11
[ ]Southern Valley
A rather prosperous piece of land the wolves guard with their lives. It is the most peaceful place in Alaska when the weather is good and is perfect for raising families. Surrounded by trees, it is protected but still sunny in the center where wildflowers bloom in the spring and run-off water from the mountains trickles down to make streams. the caribou calf here, so food is rarely in short supply during the spring, but, during winter, the valley is barren and void, often snow covered.
South Face.
00
[ ]Dawntread Forest
Fittingly named, the forest is quite beautiful at dawn, giving it an almost invulnerable look when the stars begin to fade and bluish, purple and yellow paint the skies as the sun begins to rise. The forest is beautiful, honestly, and is littered with many trees such as oaks, birches, pines and other things.
South Face.
00
[ ]Tundra
Ah, yes, the tundra. A massive expanse that stretches as far as the eye can see, completely frozen over almost year round. it's almost completely vacant of vegetation, with only small bushes and grasses in the warmer months. The sleds glide over the ice and snow here but sink holes and wolves, among other predators, are frequent hazards.
00
[ ]Northwood
A huge, almost monster of a forest, packed tight with the strongest, tallest trees and filled with the fastest, most tasty prey animals. Trappers and loggers drool for this place, but it is heavily guarded by the North-face wolves so you must tread cautiously. They've been known to take down a man and his dogs.
North Face.
00
[ ]Northern Falls
This river has no name, for the sheer reason that no one is brave enough to go to it. The North-face wolves protect this land with their lives as it is their only water source, even though it is mostly frozen much of the time, save the area around the massive water fall. It snakes its way around the bottom of the North-face mountain range.
North Face.
00
[ ]The North-Face Pack (1 sub-board)
On the far side of the tundra, far away from the human village and just before the frozen sea, the northern mountains jut skyward. Taller than the south face and much farther North, this mountain range is much colder and completely barren of trees, only dried shrubbery. But the animals seem to thrive regardless, from goats to cougars... and, of course, the mysterious wolf pack within.

[ ]Frozen Sea
Usually serving as the end of the sledding championship race, the frozen sea is a massive stretch of salt water and glaciers that's almost always frozen near the banks, even in the warmer summer months. It's the most prosperous area for fishing and the goal of the championship race is to, somehow reach a large, red-stone rock at least 200 yards off shore and break a piece off. The team that returns with the biggest piece the fastest wins the championship race... That is, if they can cross the North-face mountain range... twice.
